In fact, the theme of World Asthma Day 2009 "You Can Control Your Asthma" is the same as that proposed for the two previous years, because it translates the result to establish appropriate strategies to be undertaken: Develop
- good cooperation patients with their doctors
- Identify and reduce exposure to risk factors
- assess, treat and monitor asthma managed to Know
- an asthma
Thus it is considered that a person has controlled asthma when:
- not have asthma symptoms like coughing in the morning or running
- can sleep without waking.
- not need medication relief.
- has no asthma attack.
- can do all the sports and leisure time you want.
The message we give to patients is that "to achieve asthma control you"
- have a written individualized treatment for your asthma
- Take medications prescribed by your doctor.
- Know and avoid things that can trigger asthma attacks.
