5 May, World Asthma Day IN 2009
World Asthma Day 2009, held the first Tuesday of every May, is sponsored by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), and will be held on May 5, 2009 as an initiative to raise awareness of the burdens of disease to the sufferer and the possibility of having it under control, leading a healthy life without limitations. In fact, the theme of World Asthma Day 2009 "You Can Control Your Asthma" is the same as that proposed for the two previous years, because it translates the result to establish appropriate strategies to be undertaken: Develop
- good cooperation patients with their doctors
- Identify and reduce exposure to risk factors
- assess, treat and monitor asthma managed to Know
- an asthma
Thus it is considered that a person has controlled asthma when:
- not have asthma symptoms like coughing in the morning or running
- can sleep without waking.
- not need medication relief.
- has no asthma attack.
- can do all the sports and leisure time you want.
The message we give to patients is that "to achieve asthma control you"
- have a written individualized treatment for your asthma
- Take medications prescribed by your doctor.
- Know and avoid things that can trigger asthma attacks.
- Learn to recognize the symptoms of an asthma attack.
- know what to do in an asthma attack.
Our group is trying to get this message through educational activities that take place in our package eduativo Asthma, Sport and Health.
