From the crest of carnations
As it has started snowing in the mountains of Madrid, on Saturday I went to take one eye already on the ground and step inaugurate the skiing season. I leave the car park preserves at about 7:50, no wind, -10 º C outside the car, but the wind chill is not so low. Snow hard / very hard from the meadow of the sleds. I walk up the road to the right of deposit (which goes to the lake) with a stone visible, but passable. Once in the dam, cross the river and climb over side through, because it is all very winded and not much snow, which was maintained up to the hill.
From there, shot right along the road to the lake of the birds, but up "to the Zaragoza" to the hill top. Heavy snow and poor, which change nothing beyond the hill and begin to approach the curbs of Peñalara. Very good snow up to the lake and up the base of the crest of carnations.

Here I take off my skis and put on crampons. Powder snow base some ice / snow hard and some mixed, which makes you have to put some attention to where the floor. After finishing the ridge, walk and climb to criminal and at the top I turn to fit the skis for the descent to the sisters. Snow bad winded and very hard. I continue up the hill from sister and I go to fit skis from here, good with a stone down the track. This week it will snow more, so it promises for the weekend.
