ISO has approved a new version of ISO 9001. Accurately called ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems; Requirements (2008 is the year of approval).

In particular, the ISO 80 members with voting power (p-member) the Technical Committee TC 176 (Quality management and quality assurance) (here the base site) , including Spain through AENOR, the parent committee Sub 2 that has this standard (Quality Systems SC2) , have unanimously approved its publication, scheduled for 15/17 November 2008.

Thus, the new ISO 9001:2008 does not include new additional requirements with respect to the 2000 version but includes clarification of existing requirements in the previous text "
